PM Marković hosts Ambassador Kurtezi: Good bilateral relations and excellent cooperation between Montenegro and Albania
Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted earlier today the inaugural visit by Ambassador of Albania Ridi Kurtezi. The two officials noted that Montenegro and Albania have excellent bilateral relations, excellent co-operation and established mutual trust.
Prime Minister Marković said that political dialogue is at the highest level, adding that Montenegro and Albania, as allies within NATO, together contribute to the values of the Alliance.
The Prime Minister pointed out that Montenegro, as the leading country in the EU negotiation process, is ready to support Albania and share its experiences within the European agenda and accompanying challenges.
Both sides emphasised the positive role of the Albanian people in Montenegro, which contributes to the cohesion of Montenegro and its future and represents a strong tie between the two countries.
Furthermore, the two officials discussed the need for continued coordination and communication on issues of relevance to both countries, including the concern for shared resources and potentials, and the importance of their preservation. Noting that Montenegro will strengthen the energy and road infrastructure in the future, which will, among other things, better connect the two countries, PM Marković said that he sees this as a chance not only for better connections between people but also for companies and strengthening of economic cooperation. Precisely the economy, as Ambassador Kurtezi said, will be the focus of his work in Montenegro.
The two officials assessed the joint session of the two governments, held in Shkodër last year, as positive, expressing the belief that the next one will be organised next year in Montenegro, which would be an additional incentive for further improvement of relations and cooperation.
