Podgorica, Montenegro (26 December 2018) -- Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System Milutin Simović noted at a meeting with business people earlier today that the past year was the year of an open dialogue with business people.
"The results economy has achieved this year is the best confirmation that we are all together on the right path. Such results achieved by the Montenegrin economy are primarily the result of your efforts - the efforts of business people, hard-working miners, employees in construction, tourism and energy sectors, industrious agricultural producers, social partners, representatives of domestic and foreign investment community and public administration," stressed the Deputy Prime Minister.
He said that the Government and business people are committed to boosting the business environment, and that in that regard, the amendments to several legal acts have been made.
Speaking about the illegal market, the Deputy Prime Minister underlined that combating the grey economy and unfair competition are our common goals. By the same token, the Deputy Prime Minister called on business people to work together with the Government and the Commission for suppression of the grey economy.
"But the grey economy does not fall from the sky, we generate it in this market," said DPM Simović, pointing out that parallel experiences indicate that in Bulgaria 29.17% of the economic activities relates to the grey economy, 30.14% in Romania, 29.8% in Malta. On the other hand, in Switzerland 6%, in Austria 7.1%, in Luxembourg 8%.
"There are no official surveys in our country showing what the proportion of the grey economy is. Some estimates say it is from 20 to 30%," the Deputy Prime Minister explained.
