Prime Minister Djukanovic talked today in Podgorica with the newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro, Mrs. Lavanye Prasad.
Ambassador Prasad acquainted Prime Minister Djukanovic with Indias strategic development guidelines, stressing that India was increasingly recognized as a stability and peace factor, while its economic indicators suggested a major boost in the economy.
The two officials agreed to improve cooperating prospects in the field of shipping industry, tourism, information science, and to encourage Indian companies to take part in Montenegros privatization process. The initiative to sign the Agreement on Cooperation between Indian and Montenegrin Chambers of Commerce was fully supported.
Ambassador Prasad found that the strategic priorities in the sphere of democratic and economic reforms, as pursued by the Government of Montenegro, were not always easy to achieve, but added that Montenegro had the required potential.
Ambassador Prasad and Prime Minister Djukanovic shared their views on the relations within the state union and expressed readiness to continue the cooperation between the two countries, as well as the expectation that the agreed initiatives would soon be launched.
