Press release: Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic held talks with British Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro David Gowan

Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic talked today in Podgorica with British Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro, David Gowan.

The two officials agreed that last weeks talks with the EU ambassadors were positive and useful and that the same practice should continue. As far as the Feasibility Study is concerned, it was found the barriers to the European integration process would be eliminated and that satisfactory solutions to unresolved issues from the Action Plan would be found.

Confirming the mutual interest in the furtherance of economic cooperation and an increasing presence of British companies and investments in Montenegro, Prime Minister Djukanovic and Ambassador Gowen considered concrete initiatives and opportunities in that respect.

Ambassadors Gowan expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Montenegrin Ministry of the Interior and announced new support programs. Prime Minister Djukanovic agreed with Ambassador Gowan and gave his full support to the extension of cooperation and stressed that the reform of the police and state security service would remain among the priorities of the Government both this year and in years to come.

The two officials shared their views on the reform of the Army.
