Monteput orders CRBC to urgently repair damage on Mateševo - Veruša - Bioče road

Monteput company that manages the project of the construction of the Bar - Boljare motorway ordered earlier today the Chinese company CRBC, the contractor of the motorway's priority section, to urgently repair damage on the regional road Mateševo - Veruša - Bioče, in line with the contractual obligations.
In the past days, the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs urged the Project Manager and the Engineer - Supervisory Authority to undertake urgent rehabilitation measures, not only when it comes to this roadway, but also other roads used by the local population for approaching private property, and the Contractor uses them as accessory roads to the construction site.
Pursuant to the Agreement on the project design and construction of the Bar-Boljare motorway, the priority Smokovac-Mateševo section, which was signed with the Chinese company CRBC, it is the obligation of the Contractor to continuously maintain all the roads infrastructure it uses as a construction site access.
The project manager, both for this road and other roads that serve the needs of the construction site, regularly monitors the situation on the construction site and, directing the Supervisory Authority and Contractor towards regularly maintain all the roads used for the motorway's construction.
One of the Contracting mechanisms is the issuance of Notification of Non-Compliance, which implies the retention of part of the money from temporary situations, until the observed shortcomings are eliminated. Using this mechanism, at this moment, EUR 292,000.00 was kept from the contractor for repairing parts of the Mateševo - Veruša - Bioče road.
It is important to note that, for the purpose of constructing the motorway, the contractor has put almost 60 km of access roads into use, some of which have been reconstructed and expanded in accordance with the requirements of the Contractor's machinery, and some have been constructed as new roads in its entirety. Apart from the needs of the construction site, part of these roads is also used by the local population.
In addition to the aforementioned measures and activities, the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs is planning a significant reconstruction of a part of this road with the aim of ensuring a high*quality connection of the motorway with the existing road infrastructure.
