Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic talked today in Podgorica with the newly appointed Tunisian Ambassador to Belgrade Radhouane Larif.
Exchanging their views on the priorities of the two governments and the results achieved in reform and privatization, the two officials agreed that traditionally good political relations had not been properly materialized despite many opportunities for economic cooperation and partnership. Tourist industry and service sector, in particular, provide many opportunities in that respect, since the exchange with the EU countries accounts for 80% of Tuniss foreign trade, and by 2008 that country is supposed to establish a free-trade zone, as provided by the Association Agreement signed with the EU in 1995.
Prime Minister Djukanovic and Ambassador Larif found that the first step in the concretization of a wide range of possibilities for economic cooperation consisted of direct acquaintance with and presentation of economic opportunities provided by the two countries, and agreed to take further measures to that end.
The two officials agreed that the continuation of decisive campaign against all aspects of extremism and terrorism was of extreme importance and that the policy of good neighborly rations and regional cooperation was the cornerstone of their foreign polities.
