Statement from Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic on the death of Dusko Jovanovic, Director and Editor in Chief of daily Dan

The tragic death of the Editor in Chief of Podgorica daily Dan is a serious warning that the aftermath of the violence we experienced for more than a decade still remains and still poses a threat.
This is not only a tragedy for the Jovanovic family and the editorial staff of the daily Dan. This is also an attack on public peace and stability of Montenegro and a threat to its citizens. It is, therefore, extremely important to carry out a thorough investigation of who could have a motive to send us that kind of message by committing this terrible crime.
The Interior Ministry and other authorities must take decisive action to discover the perpetrator and the inspirer of this crime. The entire professional capacity of the Montenegrin Interior Ministry, together with the support mobilized through the cooperation with other services, must be employed with a view to bringing the persons responsible for this crime before judicial authorities.

I take this opportunity to express my sincere condolences to the family and of the tragically deceased Dusko Juvanovic and to the editorial staff of the daily Dan.
