PM Marković hosts families of citizens abducted in Štrpci: Government will tackle all outstanding issues including concrete assistance to victims' families

Podgorica, Montenegro (6 March 2019) -- Suffering of the innocent citizens in Štrpci in 1993 obliges the Government of Montenegro to work on all outstanding issues falling under its remit, at the same time creating conditions for institutional assistance to the families of the victims.
Prime Minister Marković said that his Office will be working on the issues the relatives of victims' pointed out to him. They relate to the improvement of the position of their families and the establishment of an research and documentation centre that would deal in more detail with collecting relevant facts not only about this, but also about all other cases with elements of war crimes related to Montenegro.
Furthermore, it was agreed to intensify activities in order to continue the search for the remains of victims. Both sides also agreed on the necessity to oversee the trials that are being conducted in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina for this crime.
Representatives of relatives of the citizens abducted in Štrpci, Mirsad Rastoder, Ragip Ličina, Elif Bakija and Velija Murić, thanked Prime Minister Marković for hosting them, hopeful that the announced activities will contribute to justice and provide support to families.
