PM Marković hosts delegation from International Labour Organisation: Montenegro's cooperation with social partners is example in region

Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted earlier today Assistant Director-General of the International Labour Organisation and Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Heinz Koller.

Both sides noted the high-quality cooperation between the Government of Montenegro and the International Labour Organisation (ILO), which marks a hundred years of existence this year. Furthermore, they stressed that dialogue between the Government of Montenegro and the social partners is an example for other countries in our region.

"You have a responsible partner in this Government," Prime Minister Marković said. He highlighted that social dialogue was deepened during this Government's mandate. "With the commitment of Minister Kemal Purišić, we talk more and understand each other better," the Prime Minister emphasised.

The Prime Minister informed the ILO delegation about the excellent results of the Government's economic policy, which includes significant growth in budget revenues, a high level of quality foreign investment, a record tourist season and economic growth among the highest in Europe. Thanks to this, PM Marković concluded, about 11,000 new jobs were created in our country.

Expressing his gratitude to the International Labour Organisation for cooperation, the Prime Minister pointed out that the partnership relationship promotes the successful fulfillment of common goals – realization of the right to work and engage in employment and strengthening of social protection and social dialogue.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was invited to the International Conference on Labour, which will be held in June this year.

Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Kemal Purišić and Director of the International Labour Organisation's regional office covering the countries of Central and Eastern Europe Markus Pilgrim also attended the meeting.
