Podgorica, Montenegro (12 March 2019) – Prime Minister Duško Marković met earlier today with German Chancellor Angela Merkel's Foreign Policy Adviser Jan Hecker.

The two officials discussed further strengthening of bilateral cooperation and political and economic dialogue, which was significantly improved after Prime Minister's visit to Berlin and meeting with Chancellor Merkel. PM Marković stressed the importance of the strategic partnership with Germany and its support to the reform agenda and the European future of Montenegro, as well as the region.

Furthermore, they discussed the situation in the region. It was noted that fostering an open and constructive dialogue is the most important precondition for resolving all open issues, with a key focus on the long-term stability of the region and its European perspective.
