Minister of Science of Montenegro Dr. Sanja Damjanović met today, on 11 March 2019, with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Montenegro, H. E. Songül Ozan.
Minister Damjanović familiarised her counterpart with priority activities of the Ministry of Science, especially with regard to finalisation of the Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3), establishment of the first Science and Technology Park in Montenegro, support to the formation of new centres of excellence and the activities on the Regional Project for the Establishment of the South East European International Institute for Sustainable Technologies (SEEIIST).
At the meeting, it was concluded that there was a lot of room for cooperation between Montenegro and Turkey in the field of health tourism.
In this regard, Ambassador Ozan pointed to the possibility of establishing cooperation with other social actors as well, primarily the academic community and the economic sector.
Finally, it was agreed that agriculture, energy, and information and communication technologies were the areas of mutual interest for cooperation of the two countries, with a conclusion that particular attention ought to be paid to visibility of the results of scientific research work, which should be better presented to the general public via media.
