Podgorica, montenegro (20 March 2019) -- Criminals will not find a safe haven in Montenegro, Prime Minister Duško Marković said responding to an MP's question during the Prime Minister's Questions session in the Parliament of Montenegro.

"However, justice reaches them where they least expect it. With the support of the partner agencies of the region and Europe, numerous actions have been taken to arrest high-ranking members of organised criminal groups starting from Turkey through Bulgaria and the Czech Republic, Albania and Kosovo," the Prime Minister said.

He stressed that in November 2017, answering a question by MP Adrijan Vuksanović, he said that criminals are not safe in Montenegro if any individual and, of course, the State are threatened.

"At that moment, as I informed the Parliament, for the period of 11 months (1 December 2016 - 1 November 2017), the Police conducted 4,550 controls of persons of interest and filed 46 criminal reports," the Prime Minister underlined.

He recalled that in the second half of last year, the management structure of the Police was changed, and requested to tackle crime in a comprehensive way.
