Press release: Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic met Austrian Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Hannes Porias

Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic met today in Podgorica with Austrian Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Hannes Porias, on his working visit to Montenegro.
The two officials agreed that the history of fruitful political dialogue provided good foundation for the furtherance of other forms of cooperation, particularly with reference to economy.
Prime Minister Djukanovic acquainted his guest with the current situation in the Republic, development priorities and growth in the business sector, which would meet the projected socioeconomic goals. High GDP growth rate is the main development objective in the next period.
In addition, he informed Mr. Porias about the relations in the state union and efforts to find ways to unblock the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration in cooperation with the Republic of Serbia.
Ambassador Porias reiterated the readiness of his government to provide assistance in Montenegros development processes, strengthening concrete forms of bilateral cooperation. By the same token, Austrian honorary consulate was opened in Budva and there are indications that Austrian Trade Bureau in Montenegro might soon be opened.
Tourism, environmental protection and urban development are among potential cooperation fields. The project entitled Tourist and Environmental Development of Bljelasica-Komovi Region was found to be particularly important, including the area of five municipalities.
Ambassador also emphasized that Austria was ready to help the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro.
The visit of Ambassador Porias will promote cooperation on concrete projects.
