Stronger interministerial cooperation leads to more effective fight against illegal activities in forestry
The evident results have been achieved in recent years in the fight against illegal activities in forestry, but it is necessary to continue even stronger coordinated partner activities of the competent authorities in order to further improve the management of forest resources, it was noted today at the first session of the Coordination Committee for the Suppression of Illegal Activities.
In order to more effectively combat all forms of illegal activities in forestry, at the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development from the session held on 21 March, the Government adopted an Action Plan for combating illegal activities in forestry and established an interministerial Coordination Committee. This body is consisted of the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Management, the Police Directorate, the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office, the Administration for Inspection Affairs, the Customs Administration, the Tax Administration, as well as representatives of the non-governmental sector. The Coordination Committee is chaired by Milosav Anđelić, State Secretary for Forestry and Hunting Industry.
