Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic met this evening in Milocer with Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro Ambassador Mauricio Massari. The meeting was scheduled on the edge of the regional conference of broadcasting regulatory authorities.
The two officials discussed the socio-economic developments in the republic, relations within the State Union, difficulties in the implementation of the Belgrade Agreement and the Constructional Charter and the conclusions of the EU Council of Ministers meeting in Maastricht.
Ambassador Massari emphasized the readiness of the OSCE to provide support in further development of state institutions, as well as in the process of discharging the responsibilities arising from the membership in that international organization. Institutional development for the purposes of European and Euro-Atlantic integration has been recognized as a matter of critical interest for Montenegro.
Prime Minister Djukanovic and Ambassador Massari emphasized the importance of the conclusions of the EU Council of Ministers meeting in Maastricht, which represent the confirmation of Montenegros arguments for the necessity of separate European integration of the two member countries of the State Union.
With regard to Montenegrin political scene, it has been observed that the return of the opposition to the Parliament would serve the interests of democracy, in compliance with the elections result.
The meeting was attended by Head of the OSCE Office in Podgorica Rudolf Bogner.
