Military volunteers take oath in presence of PM Marković and Minister Bošković

Podgorica, Montenegro (13 April 2019) – Prime Minister Duško Marković and Minister of Defence Predrag Bošković attended today's military oath-taking ceremony at the military airport "Knjaz Danilo" in Golubovci.

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, Brigadier General Dragutin Dakić said, addressing the soldiers, that by taking the oath they accepted a moral obligation, which has a great privilege, but also a huge responsibility.

"Young soldiers, taking an oath is a sublime moral act. Being a soldier is not only a profession, it is also a lifestyle that teaches us commitment, responsibility, team spirit and perseverance. Be worthy of the uniform you are wearing, because you become part of the honourable and exemplary military machine, "General Dakić pointed out to the soldiers.

Both generations of new soldiers will attend training in the barracks "Milovan Šaranović" in Danilovgrad until June this year.

After the completion of basic military training, military volunteers will have the opportunity to enter the reserve force of the Armed Forces of Montenegro. Furthermore, they will have an employment advantage in Armed Forces of Montenegro.

After the completion of basic training, soldiers serving under contract will be deployed in 40 positions, 24 soldiers in the Infantry Battalion, three in the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, two in the Logistics Battalion, the Honourary Guards and the Training Center, and nine in the Special Forces and the Navy of the Armed Forces of Montenegro.
