Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic met last night in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

In a cordial and constructive atmosphere, Djukanovic and Lavrov considered a series of issues of bilateral importance for the promotion of political and economic cooperation between Montenegro and Russia in the light of the recent talks between Prime Minister Djukanovic and President Putin.

The two officials agreed that there were numerous possibilities as well as the readiness for the promotion of the overall cooperation on the grounds of traditional Monitoring-Russian friendship, which is to be manifested at the joint celebration of 200th anniversary of the Russian Consulate in Montenegro scheduled for 2 October in Kotor. The celebration will be attended by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Chizov.

During the talks, Djukanovic and Lavrov exchanged their views on the topical developments in the region.
