Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic met today with newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the State Union Alexander Nikolayevich Alexeyev. The meeting took place at the Russian ship Azov, which has entered the port of Kotor marking the two hundredth anniversary of the opening of the Russian Consulate in Kotor.
Prime Minister Djukanovic bid Ambassador Alexeyev welcome and wished him success in his work, emphasizing the readiness of the Montenegrin Government and other institutions to provide all the support and help needed.
The Prime Minister and Ambassador Alexeyev expressed their satisfaction with the trend of traditional friendship, observing that there were real opportunities for more intense cooperation in many fields, particularly after last months successful visit of the Montenegrin Prime Minister to the Russian Federation.
Both sides are committed to the intensification of meaningful political, economic, scientific and technical, educational and other relations and cooperation, promoting the mutual engagement of businessmen on major projects in both countries. The conditions are met for concrete initiatives in the field of investment and other aspects of cooperation, the participation of Russian companies in development projects in Montenegro as well as for more notable presence of Montenegrin enterprises and tourist industry in the Russian market.
The two parties expressed similar or identical views with regard to regional developments and a number of international issues, which constitutes groundwork for the strengthening of cooperation at a wider international level.
