Press release: Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic meets Belgian Ambassador to the State Union Luc Liebaut

Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and Belgian Ambassador to the State Union Luc Liebaut, who is making an official visit to Montenegro, met today in Podgorica with.
The two parties agreed that notable progress had been made in political dialogue and bilateral cooperation between the two countries, which was particularly manifest during the Prime Ministers recent visit to Brussels and his meetings with senior Belgian and EU officials.
Upon the Ambassadors inquiry, the Prime Minister acquainted him with the current economic and political developments in the Republic, the course of the reform processes and the economic policy results.
Ambassador Liebaut gave full credit to the Government for the launched reforms, emphasizing that the achieved results would facilitate Montenegros regional and wider international integration. He also commended the progress Montenegro had made in the development a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society, cherishing the spirit of tolerance, which could serve as a good example for the region.
Reference was also made to the developments within the State Union and difficulties in its functioning. The Ambassador said that the will of Montenegrin citizens expressed in a democratic manner, obeying the procedure based on applicable international standards, would be respected.
The Ambassador invited Prime Minister Djukanovic to visit Belgium shortly, at the most convenient time for both sides, which was gladly accepted.
The visit of Ambassador Liebaut is a further step towards the strengthening of the dialogue and concretization of cooperation between Montenegro and Belgium.
