Press release: Djukanovic meets Lajcak

Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic met today in Podgorica with Slovakian Ambassador to the State Union Miroslav Lajcak whose term of office is about to expire.

During the talks it was found that the long-standing continued political dialogue between the two countries had recently been strengthened and that the development of different aspects of cooperation was currently in progress. Emphasis is being placed on mining, wood processing, water management and tourist industry.

The Prime Minister presented his views on relations within the State Union and developments in the Western Balkans in which Slovakia had expressed interest, considering its full membership in the European Union and the NATO.

The Ambassador reiterated the readiness to develop mutual relations and cooperation, both at the bilateral and multilateral level, pointing out that the selection of projects for the Slovakian assistant program was in progress and that the projects put forward by the Government of Montenegro had good prospects of being supported.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude and paid tribute to Ambassador Lajcck for his valuable contribution to the improvement of bilateral relations and cooperation, wishing him every success in his new responsible position in the diplomatic service of his country.
