"The Government of Montenegro will not break diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation, but will patiently and reasonably strive to raise relations to a higher level," Prime Minister Duško Marković said in the Parliament today, responding to a question from the Parliamentary Club of the Democratic Front whether the Government will do so after the High Court in Podgorica pronounced judgments to two citizens of the Russian Federation.

The Prime Minister said that there are no risks for the peace and stability of the country after the verdicts of attempted terrorism ahead of the previous parliamentary elections and assessed that there won't be any risk even after a final verdict.

"The State must and can ensure the security of every individual and family in Montenegro, and of course the execution of decisions by state authorities. It is a constitutional obligation and the Government has the capacity and determination to follow it," Prime Minister Duško Marković emphasised.

The Prime Minister concluded that the citizens of Montenegro showed through our difficult and dramatic history that they are capable of following the values of peace, coexistence and communion.
