Podgorica, Montenegro (30 May 2019) – The European Commission's Progress Report on Montenegro is objective, gives a realistic picture of our successes and challenges, and I am especially pleased with the progress made in economic policy, Prime Minister Duško Marković said at a meeting with Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro Aivo Orav.

The Prime Minister pointed to positive assessments of progress in the fight against organized crime, the results achieved through international police cooperation and progress in public administration reform.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed the need to strengthen political dialogue, improve the media landscape, and continue the fight against corruption and strengthen institutions.

"I appreciate the European Commission's approach, but I think there has been good progress in the fight against corruption. Also, I believe that you have recognised our efforts and progress in improving the media landscape, not only in a normative sense, but also essentially," PM Marković said.

The meeting discussed the situation in the region, and noted that the enlargement will continue to be on the agenda of Brussels, and that countries in the region will progress towards the EU based on the individual successes.
