The Western Balkans Chapter of the Marie Curie Alumni Association Kicks off
The Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) is a global network of academics who have benefited or currently benefit from the European Commission's Marie Curie programmes. It aims to promote and develop science policy, and to encourage networking and cooperation between science, industry and society as a whole.
The newly created Western Balkans Chapter brings together Marie Curie alumni from across the Western Balkans aiming to enhance cooperation in the region and offer a strong platform for addressing the challenges and opportunities facing science and scientists in South East Europe. In particular, the Chapter is deeply committed to raising the profile and exploring the relevance of Marie Curie programmes in the Western Balkans, and encouraging more of the region’s talented researchers at all career stages to engage with and apply for Marie Curie funded projects and programmes.
The Kick-off meeting, being held in Podgorica on June 7th, represents an opportunity for the founding members of the Chapter to gather and discuss the current state of science in the Western Balkans, and to plan our activities for the forthcoming year. In particular, this will include our involvement in the upcoming MCAA General Assembly and Conference in Zagreb in March next year and ESOF 2020, which will be held in Trieste next July, and which will have a particular focus on the Western Balkan region.
