The significance of Meljine Hospital is unquestionable and the State is continually working to find a high-quality and sustainable solution to the problems in that institution, Prime Minister Duško Marković said at a meeting with the representatives of the Trade Union of the General Hospital Meljine.

"We are working together to find a solution. I am sure that no one is considering the closure of Meljine Hospital. The State has a clear interest in ensuring the smooth functioning of the health care system and high-quality health care for citizens of that part of Montenegro as well as for tourists," Prime Minister Marković stressed.

Representatives of the Trade Union, headed by President Slavica Drobnjak, informed PM Marković about hospital's difficult situation as well as all the activities they implement to ensure the functioning of the system.

The Prime Minister noted that the commitment of employees to this institution is honourable. The meeting pointed to the Government's numerous activities in order to ensure salaries for the employees in this private health institution and funds for the work and provision of health care to citizens.

"It's important to preserve professional staff at the hospital because they are our greatest asset. We have enough professional, human and development reasons to return the old glow to Meljine Hospital," Prime Minister Marković emphasised.

The meeting discussed the ways in which an extremely complex situation can be solved, while the Prime Minister pointed out that any solution must be absolutely legitimate.
