Central European Initiative (CEI) announces new calls for project proposals
The Central European Initiative has announced a new Call for Proposals for the Know‐how Exchange Programme and a new Call for Proposals for the CEI Cooperation Fund.
Call for Proposals for the Know‐how Exchange Programme
• The projects will be co‐financed by the CEI Fund at the EBRD, entirely financed by the Italian Government;
• The maximum grant amount allocated to a single project cannot EUR 40,000, and the overall indicative amount for this Call for Proposals is up to a maximum cumulative amount of EUR 290,000;
• The project applicants must be registered in EU CEI Member States, namely: Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia;
• The project beneficiaries must be registered in a non-EU CEI Member States, namely: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, and Ukraine.

The deadline for submission of project proposals is 1 July 2019.
Call for Proposals for the CEI Cooperation Fund
• The projects will be financed by the CEI Cooperation Fund, which is financed by all CEI Member States;
• The maximum grant amount allocated to a single project cannot EUR 15,000, and the overall amount for this Call for Proposals is up to a maximum cumulative amount of EUR 350,000;
• The project activities must comply with the CEI Plan of Action 2018-2020 (available at:
https://www.cei.int/sites/default/files/file/502.001-17%20PoA%202018-2020%20FINAL.pdf and must meet the criteria set by the Call for Proposals;
• The Call is open to all public and private entities based and registered in CEI Member States as well as to international/regional organisations;
• The project proposals should aim at capacity building by knowledge transfer and sharing, in particular from EU CEI Member States to non-EU CEI Member States;
• Cooperation activities can take the form of conferences, seminars, workshops, and other types of meetings, training activities as well as preparation of studies and analysis.
The activities within the Call shall be implemented from 1 January to 31 December 2020.
The requirement for the implementation of project activities is to ensure the CEI Member States participation quorum (at least half plus one, but in no case less than one third of CEI Member States).
