If MML is satisfied with opinion of Venice Commission, that is good news

Published on: Jun 22, 2019 6:10 PM Author: PR Service

If the last statement by the representative of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, Velibor Džomić means that the MML is satisfied with the Opinion of the Venice Commission on the Draft Law on Freedom of Religion, even if it was because they consider it negative, that is a very good news.

Since the Government is very pleased with the Opinion of the Venice Commission and that it is ready, as already stated, that in the final text of the Draft Law integrate the expert recommendations and suggestions of the VC for further improvement and precision of certain legal provisions, this means that there is no reason to continue an aggressive campaign that the MML is leading against the Draft Law.

Therefore, this attitude of the MML means that there are no obstacles for this religious community to participate in constructive dialogue with other religious communities and the Government, and, in the field of legal facts and international legal standards, we ensure together that the final text of the Draft Law is harmonised with the recommendations of the Venice Commission before being sent to the Assembly for consideration and adoption.
