Prime Minister Duško Marković expressed satisfaction with the official talks held during the first day of his official visit to Azerbaijan, saying that the meetings were constructive and comprehensive and that they were the result of excellent relations between the two countries, and that he sees readiness of both the state and investors to turn more strongly towards Montenegro.

"Today, we discussed how to translate these relations into new content and new value in terms of better economic cooperation and the creation of new opportunities for investors. There are many areas where it is possible: tourism, energy, agriculture, construction, trade... Today, we have individually talked about each of these possibilities," the Prime Minister said at the end of the first day of official visit to Azerbaijan.

PM Marković met in the afternoon with Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan (Milli Majlis) Ogtay Asadov. The meeting expressed mutual satisfaction with the high-quality and comprehensive relations between Montenegro and Azerbaijan, with the common conclusion that such relations should be used to strengthen economic cooperation.

Speaker Asadov said that Azerbaijan and Montenegro have signed eighteen documents between the two countries, noting that it is only a beginning. He especially thanked Montenegro for the good business environment it provided to Azmont Investments, which is building Porto Novi – one of the most prestigious tourist complexes in the region.

"There is a great readiness of their state and their investors to turn even stronger towards Montenegro and, besides one of the largest individual investments we have in tourism in Montenegro – Porto Novi – to get others, and work on opportunities for formation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises," Prime Minister Duško Marković said.

The Prime Minister reiterated to Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov the expectation expressed at the meeting with Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov that our country expects Azerbaijan's support at the institutions of the European Union so that the Adriatic-Ionian Energy Corridor receives financial support because it is important both for Montenegro and the whole Balkan region.
