Baku, Azerbaijan (25 June 2019) – My several - day visit and the Azerbaijan – Montenegro Business Forum, which took place earlier today, are aiming to promote stronger economic cooperation between the two friendly countries, Prime Minister Duško Marković told the Azerbaijani press in Baku.

"Montenegro and Azerbaijan have developed very good and friendly relations. We are not just friends, we are partners as well and we understand each other when it comes to national interests. Good interstate relations should be definitely ennobled by good economic cooperation. My visit to Azerbaijan aims to boost economic cooperation between the two countries. I discussed it yesterday with the Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov," Prime Minister Marković told the press.

He emphasised that there are several sectors for enhancing cooperation, namely energy, agriculture and trade, adding that the Azerbaijani Azmont Investments is behind one of the biggest investments in Montenegro – Porto Novi project, worth more than EUR 900 million.

"I am sure that this will be a strong incentive to mutual economic cooperation to the benefit of both countries and a better quality of life of the citizens of Montenegro and Azerbaijan. Therefore, good political relations and our partnership are strong incentives to our economic cooperation in the future,” said Prime Minister Duško Marković to the Azerbaijani press during the Business Forum that brought together business people of the two countries.
