Minister Nuhodžić: Every year, we improve the protection and rescue system

Today, on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Protection and Rescue in Montenegro and the International Civil Protection Day, the Ministry of the Interior organized a ceremony in the premises of the Protection Service of the Capital City where awards and recognitions were given for contribution to the development of the protection and rescue system in the previous year.

On this occasion, the participants were addressed by the Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić and Director-General of the Directorate for Emergency Management Mirsad Mulić, and a meeting was also held where the capacities of the protection and rescue system in Montenegro were presented.

Prime Minister Duško Marković sent a message of congratulations to members of the protection and rescue services, which stated that the previous two years confirmed that Montenegro has a reliable support in this area, and that the Government will strive to provide more modern equipment and conditions for work and better economic environment for those who perform important duties for Montenegro. "Every day we see that the protection and rescue system in our country is improving to the level that ensures the safety and peace of every citizen," said Montenegrin Prime Minister Duško Marković.

MUPSpeaking to the participants, Minister Nuhodžić emphasized that every year the system of protection and rescue in the normative plan is additionally improved, as well as in the capacity building of the response capacity for all types of hazards. He recalled that last year a new firefighting aircraft was purchased and the issue of the status of 20 firefighters was solved. The Minister expressed his special satisfaction with the fact that the Protection and Rescue Fund began operating, through which over 94.000 euros were allocated for projects that will further strengthen the protection and rescue system. The commitment of the Government and the Ministry of the Interior to improving the status of firefighters rescuers is also shown by an increase in their salary coefficient, the Minister said, adding that this was only one of the benefits defined by the Law on Protection and Rescue.

Congratulating the Day of Protection and Rescue, Director-General Mirsad Mulić expressed satisfaction with the quality of the protection and rescue system and the good cooperation of all the entities of the system, pointing out the complexity and responsibility of the tasks performed by members of the protection and rescue system.

He went on to say that during the previous year there were 13 296 interventions, and OCC Directorate for Emergency Situations 112 recorded 105 395 calls and coordinated 40 rescue operations in the mountains, where 88 people were rescued. He also stressed that in elementary and other disasters there were no human casualties.

By the decision of the Commission for conducting the awarding process, awards and acknowledgments were given to the participants in the system of protection and rescue for their contribution to the development of the system, special merit and expressed self-sacrificing.
This year, a total of 19 awards and acknowledgments: 3 plaques, 2 badges, 9 appreciation certificates and 5 cash prizes were distributed.
The cash prizes were received by:
1) Stevović Mirko, police officer employed in the Border Police Sector, border crossing point "Krstac"
2) Svrkota Radenko, commander of the operational team of the Protection and Rescue Service of Pljevlja
3) Radusinović Rajko, mechanic at the Protection and Rescue Service Podgorica
4) Agovic Dzemal, shift leader in the Protection and Rescue Service of Rožaje
5) Đolević Borislav, Advisor I for Maintenance of Technique and Equipment in the Protection and Rescue Service of Berane.
Appreciation certificates for contributing to the development of protection and rescue system were received by:
1) Andrej Čađenović, Commander of the Protection and Rescue Service Podgorica
2) Kurtovic Kadro, firefighter-rescuer in the Protection and Rescue Service Ulcinj
3) Radovan Mihajlovic, firefighter-rescuer in the Protection and Rescue Service of Berane
4) Korać Marko, firefighter-rescuer - driver in the Protection and Rescue Service of Berane
5) Stojanović Vojislav, firefighter-rescuer - driver in the Protection and Rescue Service of Berane
6) Golubovic Darko, firefighter-rescuer - driver in the Protection and Rescue Service of Berane
7) Ranko Bojović, leader of the rescue group in the Protection and Rescue Service Podgorica,
8) Vlahovic Milorad, firefighter-rescuer in the Protection and Rescue Service Podgorica
9) Nurkovic Asmir, firefighter-rescuer in the Protection and Rescue Service Rozaje

The protection and rescue badge was given to:
1) Vlaović Danilo, shift leader in the Protection and Rescue Service Bijelo Polje
2) Ivanović Žarko, firefighter-rescuer in the Protection and Rescue Service Podgorica

The volunteers Kljajević Đole and Kljajević Slavko from Đurđević Tara, Željko Darmanović, Commander of the Protection and Rescue Service Kolašin, received a plaque of protection and rescue, and posthumously with plaque, the highest recognition in the field of protection and rescue, Darko Vujošević was awarded, who died during rescue of the family Kumburović in Skadar Lake, and by his personal example, showed extraordinary courage, humanity and self-sacrifice.
