Nuhodžić - De Bolle: Montenegrin police has the support of EUROPOL in fighting crime and terrorism

Cooperation between the Montenegrin police and EUROPOL is intensifying, and joint actions in combating high-tech crime, drug and weapons trafficking an evidence of this, the Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić said during the meeting with EUROPOL's Executive Director Catherine De Bolle, who is in Montenegro on the occasion of participating in the international conference "Joint Response in the Area of Suppression of Illegal Migration and its Impact on Terrorism", held in Budva.
It was noted that the cooperation so far has been at an extremely high level, and that the Montenegrin police has provided a visible contribution to the activities of EUROPOL. It is common knowledge that Montenegro is undertaking significant efforts in the fight against terrorism, illegal migration, and international organized crime, such as smuggling of people, drugs and weapons. "Montenegrin police is our reliable partner and EUROPOL will continue to provide strong support to Montenegro. We share the same security challenges and that's why it's important that we work together and exchange intelligence, “said Catherine De Bolle.
Director De Bolle expressed satisfaction with the results achieved and praised the commitment of the Montenegrin Police to fulfill the obligations defined in the Agreement on Operational Cooperation. "Although we have done a lot of things, a lot of obligations are ahead. On this path, Montenegro and the countries of the Western Balkans play an important role "- said De Bolle.
The Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić emphasized in the conversation with the director of EUROPOL that one of the priorities in the work of the MoI and the Police Directorate is to combat all forms of crime, terrorism and other security challenges that know no borders. "In the process of joining the European Union, in addition to strengthening institutional capacities, it is important to continually improve international police cooperation. Only if we are unified and act together, we can successfully confront global threats "- concluded Minister Nuhodžić.
