PM Marković visits future ski centre Štedim – Hajla: We invest heavily in development of North, I believe that every citizen of Rožaje sees what we are doing

Rožaje, Montenegro (1 July 2019) – Prime Minister Duško Marković visited today the location of the future ski centre Štedim – Hajla in the Municipality of Rožaje and on that occasion said that the Government invests heavily in the development of infrastructure especially in the Northern Region of Montenegro, adding that he is convinced that every citizen of Rožaje sees what the Government and local self-government are doing.

"The Government is investing heavily in the development of infrastructure especially in the Northern Region, because in the North we have more than 50 percent of development potential and it is necessary to use this potential for the development and a better life of citizens," the Prime Minister said. He also pointed to the contract worth EUR 13.5 million for the construction of the cable car on Hajla.

"At the same time, a tender is being prepared for the base station and power and other facilities – worth nearly EUR two million. So, we will spend EUR 16 million this year and in the next two years on the new ski resort," Prime Minister Duško Marković said to the journalists gathered at the location of the future base station on Štedim.

The access road to the ski resort worth EUR 5 million is being built, the Prime Minister added.

An earlier tender was announced for the development of project documentation and the execution of works for ski lifts and ski trails at the site of Štedim – Hajla. The company "Strukom" from Bosnia and Herzegovina was selected. The value of the works is EUR 9 million.

The Prime Minister visited the works on the bypass around Rozaje 2.5 km long with two tunnels and two bridges. He said that this road would significantly improve the traffic. "The value of the works is about EUR 20 million, and we expect all works to be completed next year," the Prime Minister emphasised.

PM Marković visited the construction site of the Farmers' market, a kindergarten for which he laid a foundation stone and a sports hall for the needs of the Gymnasium and Secondary Vocational School. The total investment in these projects amounts to more than EUR 20 million. "I believe that every citizen of Rožaje today sees what the Government and local self-government are doing. We believe that it will create new jobs and new opportunities for young people and improve the quality of life in Rožaje," Prime Minister Marković noted.

Deputy Prime Minister Rafet Husović, Minister of Education Damir Šehović, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurković, Director of the Public Works Administration Rešad Nuhodžić, Director of the Administration for Inspection Affairs Alija Košuta and Director of the Transport Administration Savo Parača also payed visit to Rožaje.
