On the occasion of March 21 - World Day of Persons with Down Syndrome, Interior Minister Mevludin Nuhodžić put on his colorful socks and hosted twins Irma and Ilda and their mother Sara Prelević, saying that it is important that we all get involved in creating an environment where people with Down syndrome can fully enjoy human rights and be integrated into society.
Colourful socks are a symbol of the Day of Persons with Down syndrome, because people with this syndrome cannot pair them, and colourfulness symbolizes diversity.
The Minister used this opportunity to invite citizens of Montenegro to be open hearted and minded, and to support and empower people with Down syndrome, help them to be visible every day, not just on March 21, and enable them to feel equal and accepted.
