Ministry of Sustainable Development, Tourism submits application to include Ulcinj salt works in Ramsar list of international wetlands

Podgorica, Montenegro (4 July 2019) -- Minister Pavle Radulović said that he is extremely pleased that the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism submitted an application for the entry of Ulcinj Salt Works at the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance.

Minister Radulović told the press conference following today's Cabinet meeting he is hopeful hopes that the application will be successful, which will make a significant step towards the final determination of how to treat Ulcinj Salt Works, recalling that 6 out of 9 conditions for the enrollment were fulfilled.

When asked to comment on the views of some NGOs about the administration's "silence" because the UNESCO report allegedly showed that Tara River was devastated, Minister Radulović said that he will be speaking the language of arguments, calling on the public to wait until 10 July, when the UNESCO final report will be presented in Baku.
