Prime Minister Duško Marković said at the Western Balkans Summit in Poznan that strong ties with neighbouring EU member states extend to the internal ties of the Western Balkan countries.

"Therefore, the institutional framework guaranteed by the European institutions and the governments of the countries of the region is of crucial importance for connectivity, cooperation and, finally, our integration into the European Union," the Prime Minister noted.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel, EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Brigitte Bierlein took part in the plenary session, alongside Prime Minister Marković and the prime ministers of the region.

The leaders of the EU member states agreed that the connectivity agenda within the Berlin Process provides results and that the integration of the Western Balkan region is a certain political epilogue within the enlargement policy which should not have an alternative.
