Podgorica, Montenegro (11 July 2019) -- Government of Montenegro passed the Draft Law Amending the 2019 Budget Law, Minister of Finance Darko Radunović told the press.
The decision on the budget rebalance was made because of the good results of the Government, care for citizens, but also because of the responsible attitude towards the upcoming obligations, Minister Radunović underlined.
He added that the amendments to the budget for 2019 are proposed in order to create legal preconditions for refinancing existing debt and creating a fiscal reserve for obligations arising in the payment in 2020. The Minister noted that the legal basis for the possible issuance of government bonds or the realisation of credit engagement in the amount of EUR 500 million will be created. The Government and the Ministry of Finance are closely monitoring trends in the international financial market and the effects of this possible arrangement would create more favourable conditions for refinancing a part of public debt.
