Press release: Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic meets head of EUMMs Regional Office in Podgorica Jan Haukaas

Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic met today with Head of the EU Monitoring Missions Regional Office in Podgorica Jan Haukaas.

During the discussion reference was made to the current political moment in Montenegro and activities concerning the resolution of the state status. Particular emphasis was placed on the course of the talks so far, as facilitated by Ambassador Lajcak. In that context, it was agreed that conclusions of yesterdays EU council meeting in Brussels constituted an incentive for successful implementation of the referendum process.

The Prime Minister, among other things, stressed that, in the process of restoring full statehood, the Government of Montenegro would follow the clear messages from the Venice Commission, in order to help reach an agreement and apply European standards and practices.
