Podgorica, Montenegro (17 July 2019) -- "The average pension in Montenegro is currently EUR 289. Compared to average pension in the region, only Slovenia and Croatia have better indicators. The average pension in Montenegro is about 50 euros higher than in Macedonia, about EUR 65 than in Serbia and between 80 and 100 euros higher from the average in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Pensions in Montenegro are regular, and compared to average earnings, the average pension makes up almost 57% of that amount. That is 20% more than, for instance, in Croatia, where the average pension makes up 37% of the average salary," said Prime Minister Duško Marković at today's Prime Minister's Questions session in the Parliament. He added that growth is possible only in case of continuing growth of the economy.
Prime Minister Marovićnoted that it is easy to agree that pensions should be increased, but that it is important to do so in a sustainable way.
