DPM Simović and Mayor Vuković announce decisive fight against illegal exploitation of Morača River

Podgorica, Montenegro (18 July 2019) -- Government of Montenegro and the Capital City of Podgorica will take a decisive joint action in order to prevent the illegal exploitation of river deposits on the watercourses in the Podgorica area, primarily when it comes to the lower part of the Morača River.

This was agreed at today's meeting, which took place in the administrative building of the Capital City, initiated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović. The meeting with the representatives of the Coordination Team for the Suppression of Illegal Exploitation of River Spills was attended by Mayor of Podgorica Ivan Vuković.

According to DPM Simovic, illegal exploitation and large-scale devastation demand an urgent response. It is especially problematic that legal and illegal works in the zone of sanitary protection of the Bolje Sestre water course, from which water supply is provided to the Regional Water Supply System, have been registered
