Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic met in Podgorica today with Mr Stephen Heintz, President of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and Mr William Moody, the Funds Program Manager for the Balkans.
Prime Minister Djukanovic thanked Mr Heintz for the consideration and support the Fund was continually providing to Montenegros development projects and expressed satisfaction with the partnership programs implemented so far, particularly in the field of sustainable development.
In an open discussion, Prime Minister Djukanovic expressed confidence that the result of the freely expressed will of the people in the forthcoming referendum would be the restoration of Montenegros statehood. In that context, he said that the Governments priorities immediately after the referendum would focus on consolidating the progress achieved so far and accelerating talks with the EU on a Stabilization and Association Agreement, as well as strengthening political stability and integrating all political structures in further pursuance of the European and Euro-Atlantic agenda of Montenegro. The main priorities also included talks with Serbia on future relations, with the Governments Declaration on Relations with the Republic of Serbia after gaining Independence as the groundwork, Prime Minster Djukanovic concluded.
Having expressed full support for such a position, Mr Heintz found that Montenegros democratic development, in a regional context, was evident and confirmed the Rockefeller Brothers Funds commitment to further development of programs in Montenegro and strengthening of strategic partnership.
