Prime Minister Duško Marković stated in Bijelo Polje that the offer of the Democratic Party of Socialists is open to the opposition, and regarding comments of the former President of the Municipality of Pljevlja Mirko Đačić that the Government allegedly did not invest enough in the development of Pljevlja, he said that there is amnesia on the Montenegrin political scene and that the facts are on the side of the Government.

"The electoral legislation is already in the Parliament in accordance with the initial agreement of the opposition and the Government, which was later abandoned by the opposition. As you have heard, election laws are practically completed in the part of the working group that has remained. I hope that in the meantime we can get an opposition partnership in this working group and continue to draft electoral laws, adopt them during the autumn session. I am sure that we can reach harmonized electoral legislation by the end of the year. 2020 is an election year, not 2019, therefore, there is no reason to worry about excitement and misunderstanding "- the Prime Minister said answering on journalists questions after the business forum.

When asked to comment on recent remarks by the former President of the Municipality of Pljevlja Mirko Đačić that "DPS officials have grown up with armchairs" and that "DPS is ready for overhaul", the Prime Minister said that the Democratic Party of Socialists is made up of people who are united by ideological, political and economic program.

"We in our political organization have over 4,000 people formally working on these issues within the DPS. Mr. Đačić has been in our political team for a long time, he is not from a younger generation of politicians so he could objurgate the Democratic Party of Socialists and its leadership. If our young members were to give us this objection, who would probably have more right to do it - then I would understand. Therefore, at some point he decided not to be part of our political team. Good luck to him. We are very pleased that new young people come to our political organization every day. Today at the election session of the new Municipal Board in Bijelo Polje we have found that we have 25% of new members who for the first time become members of the Municipal Board. At the level of Montenegro, this is even higher percentage, over 30%, so whoever wants to be with us on this the political platform is welcome, whoever wants to stay with us on this political platform is welcome, those who do not want to work with us, good luck to them."- Prime Minister Duško Marković said.

When asked if he tried to talk with Mr. Đačić to remain in office, the Prime Minister said that he did not try, instead he spoke intensely.

"He has been in my cabinet several times on these issues than any other mayor. Take a look at your media archive and Mr. Đačić's statement where every December in the past two years he thanked the Government for the significant support and financial assistance to overcome the financial problems of the local self-government. In Montenegro, amnesia is something that is very much present in politics, probably with Mr. Đačić as well. The truth and the facts are on the side of the Government "- Prime Minister Marković said.
