Coordination Committee for transfer of mortal remains of descendants of Petrović Njegoš dynasty from Italy, France and Austria holds its first session

President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović chaired the first session of the Coordination Committee for the transfer of the mortal remains of the descendants of the Petrović Njegoš dynasty from Italy, France and Austria.
President Đukanović said that the transfer of the mortal remains fulfills yet another part of the historical and moral obligation towards the Petrović dynasty, which also has a state significance in the context of raising awareness of identity. Guided by the idea of fulfilling debt towards the Dynasty, our goal is to organise a dignified act with the highest military honors, the President said.
The Coordination Committee supported the activities so far and concluded that the working bodies had well prepared the basis for further activities related to the transfer of the mortal remains of the descendants of the Petrović dynasty.
The Committee agreed with the proposal of the expert team on the location where the remains will be transferred.
The Coordination body, chaired by the President of Montenegro, is a temporary working body of the Government of Montenegro, established on 31 January 2019, with the task of organising and coordinating activities for the transfer of mortal remains of the descendants of the Petrović Njegoš dynasty from Italy, France and Austria. Members of this body are Prime Minister Duško Marković, President of the Assembly Ivan Brajović, Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Pažin, Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanović, Minister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović, Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić, Minister of Defence Predrag Bošković, Minister of Finance Darko Radunović, Minister of Human and Minority Rights Mehmed Zenka, Minister of Health Kenan Hrapović, Prince Nikola Petrović Njegoš, Mayor of the Old Royal Capital Aleksandar Kašćelan, President of Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU) Dragan K. Vukčević, Rector of the University of Montenegro Danilo Nikolić, Director of the National Museum of Montenegro Anastazija Miranović, Director of the Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Property Božidar Božović, Art historian Aleksandar Čilikov, Historian Živko Andrijašević, Historian Dragutin Papović, architectural engineer Rifat Alihodžić, writer and academician Pavle Goranović and painter Dimitrije Popović.
