Application against organizers of meeting on Cijevna: Laws must be respected

Published on: Aug 17, 2019 6:45 PM Author: PR Service
In connection with the public meeting, which took place on the river Cijevna, we are turning to the following press release:

The Ministry of Culture will respond in accordance with the law in connection with the emphasising on the symbols of another state during a public meeting at the site Trgaja on the bank of the Cijevna.

As per the said meeting, the symbol of the neighbouring country was prominent without the national flag of Montenegro, in connection with the previously mentioned case, we will submit an application against the organizers before the competent authorities.

Once again we are highlighting that the festivals of culture must not be the cover for any kind of nationalism nor for violation of norms that are clearly defined by the positive legislation of Montenegro.

Multi – confessional and interethnic harmony is the one of the fundamental resources of the Montenegro’s society. Respecting the rights of all citizens of Montenegro to foster their cultural and national identity, once again we are pointing to the necessity of respecting the applicable laws in order to avoid similar reactions in the future. Because the laws of Montenegro must be the same for all its citizens.
