Meeting of Steering Committee of Strategic Dialogue in WB takes place in Geneva

Geneva, Switzerland (29 August 2019) -- Minister of Science Sanja Damjanović participated in a meeting of the Steering Committee of the Strategic Dialogue in the Western Balkans, took place in Geneva yesterday, sponsored by the World Economic Forum. The meeting was also attended by Representatives of the WB countries, as well as representatives of Austria, Germany, Greece, Finland, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, the European Commission, the Regional Cooperation Council, the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank. The meeting discussed the topics of common interest for the WB countries, in particular activities on the establishment of the Regional Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the setting up of the Regional Mechanism for Competitiveness and Innovation, as well as cooperation with the World Economic Forum's Cyber Security Centre.
Representing the strategic approach of the Government of Montenegro in the field of science, Minister Damjanović spoke about activities in this field, especially pointing out the importance of establishing the International Institute for Sustainable Technologies in SEE (SEEIIST), which will represent a unique centre of excellence, thus making the countries of the region competitive in the rest of Europe.
