Ministry of Culture supports initiative to build monument to Queen Jelena in Podgorica

Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanović hosted today Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, who is paying visit to Montenegro.
The meeting discussed topics in the field of culture, opportunities for cooperation, as well as joint efforts to further affirm the work of Queen Jelena of Savoy.
The exceptional relations between the two countries are good basis for future cooperation.
Minister Bogdanović informed the Prince about the current joint activities of Montenegro and Italy, noting that the exhibition dedicated to the Princess of Montenegro and the Italian Queen Jelena of Savoy is planned for the next year. The meeting discussed the activities of the Ministry of Culture on the occasion of 140 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Montenegro and Italy.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the initiative to build a monument to Queen Jelena in Podgorica. Minister Bogdanović said that the Ministry of Culture fully supports the idea.
Possibilities for cooperation and artistic exchange between the two countries were also discussed. Minister Bogdanović informed Prince Emanuele that numerous exchange programmes were being implemented through IPA projects, but that the real opportunities for this would be created by establishing regional creative hubs in more Montenegrin cities.
Prince Emanuele expresses satisfaction with his visit to Montenegro, emphasising the fact that Italian artists are actively engaged in supporting Montenegrin culture and creativity.
He expressed special appreciation for the initiatives concerning Queen Jelena, emphasising that he was ready to support any joint project and that he would be happy to return to Montenegro in the future.
Today's meeting discussed new programmes in Montenegrin culture, such as the creative industries and increasingly intense activities aimed at the development of cinematography.
