The International Entrepreneurship Fair - MOS is being held for the 52nd time in Celje, Slovenia from 10 to 15 September 2019. Montenegro is a partner country of this very significant event, bringing together more than 1,500 exhibitors from 34 countries and attracting over 100,000 visitors.
Forty Montenegrin exhibitors – from the field of agriculture and food industry, tourism, energy, metal processing, transport and other fields – as well as institutions, present products and services in a common exhibition space of 525 square meters.
Their participation is organised by the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Tourism and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Culture, the NTO and the Investment and Development Fund (IRF). Participation in MOS enables the quality presentation of products, the acquisition of new business contacts, the better positioning of Montenegrin brands and the possibility of export growth.
Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić and President of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro Vlastimir Golubović spoke at the opening of the fair. Montenegrin Ambassador to Ljubljana Vujica Lazović and Honorary Consul of Montenegro to Slovenia Vojislav Kovač attended the opening of the fair.
Minister Sekulić said that the 52nd MOS is a confirmation of the long successful cooperation between Montenegro and Slovenia, and especially business people.
"This is supported by the foreign trade exchange between Montenegro and Slovenia, which at the end of 2018 amounted to a total of EUR 85,067,747, which is a tripled amount compared to 2015, when it amounted to EUR 25,007,060. The inflow of FDI by Slovenian companies in Montenegro at the end of 2018 amounted to EUR 13,084 million," Minister Sekulić said.
She stressed that the Montenegrin economy is growing fast, with a rate of close to five percent for several years in a row. The Government, i.e. the Ministry of Economy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the IRF, implements a number of development programmes. The representatives of the economy bring economic growth. That is why the Government of Montenegro pays special attention to encouraging entrepreneurship and providing a more favorable business environment for domestic and foreign companies. As a result, there has been a steady increase in the number of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and their employees over the last seven years. In 2018, 59.03% more enterprises were registered compared to 2011, while the total number of employees increased by 30.54%.
Sekulić said that special attention was paid to inter-institutional cooperation and adoption of good practices of the Republic of Slovenia, as well as partnerships between Montenegrin and Slovenian companies.
The Minister stated that the long-term partnership cooperation is being realised through assistance in seeking partners for Montenegrin companies to apply for one of the projects from EU funds; promotion of Montenegrin companies; active participation in international bilateral business meetings organised by EEN partners; as well as the exchange of information and experience in the field of internationalisation.
President of the Chamber of Economy Vlastimir Golubović emphasised that the goal of the Montenegrin participation, as a partner country, is to improve intercompany and thus overall economic cooperation.
