European Innovation Council (EIC) Roadshow to take place in Montenegro on 19 September

The Ministry of Science and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation are organising the EIC Roadshow in Montenegro on Thursday, 19 September, in Hotel Podgorica, at 9.00 a.m. 

The event aims to present new developments in support to innovation through the EU Horizon 2020 Programme, as part of the activities of the European Innovation Council, as well as the cooperation opportunities, primarily for SMEs engaged in innovation, start-up and academic community. Those present will have the opportunity to learn about the innovation funding and support modalities within the European Union.

The main actions of the European Union in the field of innovation will be presented by a high representative of the European Commission, Ms Signe Ratso, Deputy Director-General at the EC’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD). At the start of the event, the participants will be welcomed by Mr. Radosav Babić, Director-General at the Ministry of Economy and Mr. Velibor Bošković, Acting Director of the Science and Technology Park Podgorica.

As part of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation HORIZON 2020, the European Innovation Council has created a number of new support instruments for innovative SMEs, innovative start-ups and teams at universities, and is preparing a very ambitious post-2020 plan with a view to create an attractive innovation environment in Europe.

The Council (EIC) offers four funding schemes:

EIC Pathfinder,

EIC Accelerator,

Fast Track to Innovation (FTI), and

- EIC Horizon Prizes.

As a country associated to Horizon 2020, Montenegro has full access to all the funding sources under the same conditions as the EU Member States.
