On the occasion of allegations published in some media that the Government "hided" and "tried to hide" information concerning disappearance or destruction of certain movable property in the old factory "Duvanski kombinat" Podgorica, in order to truthful inform the public we communicate that the aim of marking documentation of the Ministry of Finance on the sale of movable property in old factory "Duvanski kombinat" Podgorica with the degree of secrecy "INTERNAL" is not hiding information from the public but protection of the process while the facts are determined.
Earlier in July, the Ministry of Finance and the Protector of Property and Legal Interests of Montenegro, in accordance with its legal authority, have already taken appropriate action within its jurisdiction and informed the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica about the case in question, in order to access weather is it the concrete case about criminal offense which is prosecuted ex officio, or to determine the circumstances in which the subject property had been taken away or destroyed, as well as detection of the perpetrator and all in order to protect property interests of Montenegro.
The content and structure of the published conclusions of the Government clearly indicate that the aim is to protect national interests and property and not hiding of any potential irregularities.
