DPM Simović meets with Turkish Minister Kasapoğlu: Interstate relation are good and substantial, economic exchange grows constantly

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović and Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Kasapoğlu noted earlier today that relations between the two countries are good and substantial, economic exchange is growing constantly and the planned goals are realistic and achievable to the benefit of both countries. 

Deputy Prime Minister Simović and Minister Kasapoğlu will chair the Mixed Commission for Economic Cooperation between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of the Republic Turkey, whose fifth session will be held today and tomorrow in Podgorica. 

Deputy Prime Minister expressed pleasure to cooperate with Minister Kasapoğlu in the capacity of co- chairs of the Mixed Commission and work together in order to boost economic and overall bilateral friendship, partnership and allied relations between the two countries. 

It is confirmed that Montenegro and Republic of Turkey maintain good and substantial relations in almost all areas. The visit of the Delegation of the Republic of Turkey led by Minister Kasapoğlu and the fifth session of the Mixed Commission for Economic Cooperation will give an additional impulse to that relations of the two countries and in particular will contribute to the further strengthening and maximising the economic relations and trade to the benefit of both sides, Deputy Prime Minister Simović pointed out. 

The Deputy Prime Minister apostrophes the significance, of this year signed Protocols I and III, which the subject is further liberalisation of mutual trade in agricultural products and the market services access. These protocols are especially significant for Montenegro’s producers and companies in agro – industry, DPM Simović stressed. 

Economic relations between the two countries are growing constantly, the amount of EUR 100 million in trade is exceeded and the set goals for the upcoming period are realistic and achievable, said the Deputy Prime Minister. 

Both sides noted that, among others, sports, youth cooperation and agriculture are areas with great potential for cooperation between the two countries. Speaking about Montenegro’s readiness to maintain and accelerate existing trends with the Republic of Turkey, Deputy Prime Minister Simović said that in the implementation of the reached agreements both sides should have sports, winning spirit. 

In the Protocol from the fifth session of the Mixed Commission for Economic Cooperation, many areas will be highlighted and reached agreements have to get into the process of implementation immediately, DPM Simović underlined.

Minister Kasapoğlu thanked Deputy Prime Minister Simović for the hospitality and warm welcome that he is pointed to and highlighted particular satisfaction at being able to stay in Montenegro for the first time, about which he had heard many wonderful things. 

The Minister emphasised that the high dynamics of communication at the highest level and numerous agreements signed by the two countries confirm excellent relations between the two countries. That is why, as he stated, it is a special honour to be a chairman of the Mixed Commission with the Turkish side. 

Minister Kasapoğlu confirmed that the Government of the Republic of Turkey closely monitors the significant contribution of Montenegro in the process of stabilisation and improvement of cooperation in the Western Balkans and our successful path in the negotiation process with the EU. The Minister emphasised that membership in NATO is not only the success of Montenegro, the region and NATO, it is success at the global level. 

The Turkish Minister informed interlocutor DPM Simović about the projects that Government of the Republic of Turkey is implementing in the area of education and motivation of the young people to initiate projects and businesses in agriculture. It is agreed that the relevant ministries cooperate on these projects in the short term. 
The two officials expressed belief that tomorrow’s session of the Mixed Commission and the adoption of the Protocol will open a new phase in the fulfillment of the tasks, which the Commission gets within an Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of the Republic of Turkey.
