New works contracted at Žarski and Kolašin 1600 ski resorts

Podgorica, Montenegro (4 October 2019) -- In line with the commitment of the Government of Montenegro to make the best use of tourism potential of the north of the country, the Public Works Administration signed three new contracts, which will enable the continuation of activities.

As part of the project of the construction of a new ski centre at the Žarski location on the Mojkovac side of the Bjelasica Mountain, the development of the conceptual design and the main design, and the construction of ski slopes along the planned "Z4" cable car, according to the "design and build" principle, were contracted. The highest-ranked bidder in the procurement process was Podgorica-based "Gradnja inženjering MNE" company, and the contract is worth EUR 1.9 million.

The deadline for drafting the conceptual design is two months from the signing of the contract. Deadline for the preparation of the main project is two months from the adoption of the conceptual design, and the deadline for the construction is six months from the date of the introduction of the contractor.

Previously, the drafting of technical documentation and the construction of a 6-seater removable cable car, with a capacity of 2,600 skiers per hour, had been contracted.

Furthermore, the erection of supporting structures on the Vragodo - Vrioci - Žarski katun road, for which Podgorica-based company "Eco Recycling" was selected, will create conditions for further construction of access roads to Žarski. The Government will invest close to one million euros in this work, and the agreed completion date is 90 days from the introduction of the contractor.

The Public Works Administration also contracted the development of the conceptual design and the main design, and the construction of ski slopes along the planned "K8" cable car at the Kolašin 1600 ski resort, according to the "design and build" principle. This job was also awarded to "Gradnji inženjering MNE" company after the tender procedure, and the value of the works is EUR 1.2 million.

The contractor is obligated to draft the conceptual design within two months from the date of signing the contract, to prepare the main project two months from the date of the conceptual design, while the works on the cable car will be completed within six months from the enforcement of the contract.
