Minister Nurković pays official visit to UAE

A delegation of the Government of Montenegro, led by Minister of Traffic and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurković is paying an official visit to the United Arab Emirates. During the visit, Minister Nurković participates at the World Road Congress on the theme "Connecting Cultures – Enabling Economies", which PIARC (World Road Association) organises every four years along with other 55 ministries and high officials responsible for the traffic sectors all over the world. Forum was opened by the UAE Minister of Infrastructure Development Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi and the President of the PIARC Claude Van Rooten.
During the first day of his visit, Minister Nurković took participation in the panel entitled “Transport networks of the future", where he informed the participants with the manner of the public policies planning in the transport sector in Montenegro, highlighting the strategic significance of the Transport Development Strategy 2019 – 2035 and the progress made in the fields of development of maritime economy, rehabilitation of the railway traffic and offering Podgorica and Tivat airports up for concession in Montenegro, particularly in the light of Agenda connectivity and the accession process to the EU. In addition to Minister Nurković, the transport and infrastructure ministers from Australia, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Spain, Singapore, Senegal, South Korea and Cambodia also spoke on the panel.
On this occasion, it was organised the bilateral meeting between Minister Osman Nurkovic and the UAE Minister of Infrastructure Development Al Nuaimi, during which they underlined the importance of friendly relations between the two governments and considered the options for further improvement of cooperation in the sectors of maritime affairs and infrastructure, particularly in the exchange of the best practice, experience and knowledge. Minister Nurković especially emphasised that Montenegro is multinational, multi-ethnic and multi - religious country and as such it serves as a positive example of diversity and stability in the Western Balkans region.
